Red Dot Content Management system updated
12 July 2006, 9:35 am
The Red Dot Content Management System, used by Sotic on all its projects, has introduced some new features.
Recycle Bin Function
In the new version, deleted pages are first of all moved to the authorisation-protected Recycle bin. There the authors can – as when working with the usual Microsoft products – decide if they want to restore the page, delete it or transfer it to the archive. Pages in the Recycle bin can still be found using the CMS content search. This minimises oversights and increases efficiency

Easier Administration of Assets (Images, PDFs etc.)
Files in the RedDot Asset Manager are even easier to administer with the new version: For example, obligatory attributes can be defined and assets can be moved to subfolders. In addition to the existing import/export function, bulk export and import of media files is now also possible. Using a new reporting function, the frequency, usage type and usage location of assets can be displayed at the touch of a button.

Dynamic Archives
Archives on all sites are dynamically archived to reduce the work required to search and store news.  The archive automatically works with our integrated search engine  allowing fans and site administrators the ability to quickly find any information from the site either by date or by relevance.

Improved HTML Cleaner
An additional code cleaner has been added to ensure that all pages are now XHTML strict regardless if the content is copied from Word or other external sources.  Alt tags are now also added to picture by default to keep sites clean.

Client Controlled redirects
To aid site navigation and search engine optimisation, clients can now add in any redirect they required from http://www.guinnesspremiership/fixtures through to http://www.hcinekencup.com/live or http://www.ulsterrugby.com/tv
